At Chai Latte Diaries, I’m asked how to answer the world’s most boring and predictable answer (which is handed out to all biological and non-biological aunties at the annual Global Aunties Forum) – WHY ARE YOU SINGLE?:

All of the above, is to tell you that you are not alone. That the answering to our families and “Rishta-Aunties” is exhausting and actually impossible. So here’s your line, my love: “I met the right men at the wrong time. I met the wrong men at the right time. Because Allah knows best. Do you know any nice men, Auntie?”

That line is easy to remember. Because it’s the truth.
