“These poems have an impressive simplicity of style devoid of archaic and artificial diction. The chief interest of these poems is the employment of imagery with extraordinary effectiveness.“
Today, this is all that matters to me. rose-water syrup is officially available for pre-order, and I am alone when all I want to do is hug it out.
This is a collection of poems discussing the different identities of me – feminist, Muslim, immigrant, Palestinian, woman of colour, colonized, occupied, and occupier. Naturally, it is also a collection of pieces from a broken heart intent on healing through words.
When you buy her, please take a photo with her and you, and send it my way or tag me on instagram so I know whose hands are keeping her. I poured my heart into these poems between the Fall of 2016 and Spring of 2018; if you love her, share her with your own friends, please and thank you. Especially, share her with your Muslim friends, your feminist friends, your refugee friends, your immigrant friends, and your women of colour friends. If you want to go above and beyond, you are always welcome to post a review at the links from which she may be ordered. Always, always, you are welcome to inbox me at zimmo.maha(at)gmail(dot)com.

Today, I am grateful for:
1. Pre-order links and all twelve of you who are using them.
2. The reason for which I began writing poetry in the Fall of 2016. I was nursing a broken heart and decided not to let pain be the only thing which he left at my door. I made a promise to myself then that I would be published in a book of poetry. And here I am. alhamduliLah.
3. That in exactly 48 hours, I will be home. I am so exhausted and I miss home, momma, baba, and all beloveds. So much.
