The Collapsing Of Time

Later in high school and in early Uni, I would pop into her apartment daily on my way home.

We’d eat tuna on toast, drink coffee, and talk talk talk talk talk and talk some more. When she got married and eventually left the country, I lost one of my safest spaces.

She is some years older than me, and now has two children, both recent graduates. Last I saw her was when I was here for work in 2011/2012.

We spent the day playing catch-up.

Though without the toast and tuna, it felt just like yesterday I had said ‘See you tomorrow’ as I was closing her door goodbye.

Today, I am grateful for:
1. Friendships that stand the test of time.
2. Friends who reach out to pull my attention to important things I would not have been aware of otherwise.
3. BEARDED MEN. KEEP! IT! UP! FELLAS!
