You can find both of these on Electric Oasis: Exotic Arabic Grooves, which I picked up at the HMV on St-Catherine in Montreal. They have an extensive electronica section in the basement; look for camels on the covers of CDs…those will be the ones indicating ‘Arabic’ grooves. Stupid god damn packaging, but killer tunes.

despite my limited internet connectivity nowadays ie. 56k modem, I managed to stay logged on for 7 hours today and finally finished downloading Amr Diab’s ‘Tamaly Maak’ and Cheb Khaled’s ‘Abdul Kader’ .. been grooving to those songs all day.
Amr Diab= awesome. Cheb Khaled= awesome. Awesome+ Awesome = Happy Uzi.

NICE. But all of the CDs are *super cheap* over there because they’re all bootleg, and there is no concept of copyright.
Save yourself the time and learn to barter really well. Then buy 12 cds for 2 pennies.
