“The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.”

You remind me of my wife who passed three years back. She was full of passion, with a smile and hug for all. I am not a perverted old man, but a man who misses his wife and you have managed to bring back to life what she did daily. I have been reading your blog for over a year and I must comment this evening.
This quote she wrote on every card she gave me. The lucky of us are those where the transformation is to a better person. My wife made me the better man I am today.
Thank you. I will now quietly return behind your other admirers.
Robert

Robert.. Much as you credit your wife with making you a better man, she clearly was a very lucky woman.. To have a man remember you so fondly and use just that one sentence to summarize what you meant to him: “My wife made me the better man I am today” should be every woman’s ultimate dream..
If she loved you enough to give you that quote on every card, she wanted you to know you affected her as a person in the same way she affected you. You clearly thrived off of each other.
You are a lucky man to have had her company even if not for long enough. She is a very lucky woman to have been loved that way.
It must be hard to lose such a person but you will find a way to turn her memory into an internal force to drive you to change other people’s lives in much the same way she transformed yours.

I wanted to comment on the true nature of the quote until I read Robert’s comment. Robert, only the lucky men are the ones who find women strong enough and willing enough to love their men to be better. I read somewhere that men in happy marriages live longer, so may you live a long and happy life with the memories of the woman who loved you so dearly. Thank you for sharing your story with us.
Maha, the quote is true. The lazy men and women will shy away from partners and friends who challenge them to transform. Make sure you are always searching for the people who nurture you to be better and who you in turn nurture to be better.
I am enjoying these Quotes, thank you.

Maha.. You said that when a reaction happens, it transforms both sides. Since you got into Chemistry, you should know that some chemicals just do not react .. they just sit there.. some people are like that.. they do not have the courage to allow themselves to grow and to use Robert’s words become “better” people. They come to life and go through it and leave no imprint because they are afraid to challenge themselves. Others have so much capacity to love and be loved, and as such to transform the lives of those whom they touch, they can actually be overwhelming for any one person, unless that person is of equal caliber.
Never forget that you are blessed to have already transformed the lives of those people who “live” in this page whether they comment or not.. and there is no denying that you have been transformed by them. You are blessed to have a great real family and an additional bigger and really caring virtual one.. very few people can claim that. In the midst of feeling sorry for yourself (to which you are fully entitled if you wish to do so), keep reminding yourself of all the blessings you have.. you will soon see a much better view of the future..

Thanks for the quote! I’m a quote junkie so I’m always looking for new ones to add to my repetoire.
So, I’ll reciprocate…
