The following is a conversation I had with a friend on Facebook; I have deleted her name for reasons of privacy. To facilitate your reading of this, please note that I am the one who begins this conversation.
Rather than writing about my feelings on the subject matter of how we are expected and scripted to react to certain situations, I thought that I would, for this once, allow you to understand my perspective through my idiotic blather quick witted communication skills familiar only to my closest friends.
Or, you could save yourself the trouble and merely deduce from the subject title of this entry.
Either way, enjoy…

Oh, and speaking of The Face – I am indeed on it. Under my real name. 🙂
I’m in the Duke & Jordan networks, so I’m easy to find.

What a great post. It’s very true that much of the time we behave the way we think we are expected to behave – the onslaught of the media is very difficult to avoid.

One assumes “would have been” hurts but sometimes it is in a very twisted way comforting becasue it keeps alive the illusion of what we thought “was”..
It is our way of asking: “What went wrong? It “was”, so why did it not “continue to be” ?”
It is like a pregnant women who lost her baby to a still birth but holds on to the baby clothes she had bought because the baby “would have worn them”… desperately trying to keep its memory alive. it is our way of holding on to a dream in our attempt to understand why we were given the opportunity to dream and truly feel the dream coming alive only to have it snatched from us..
Were we blessed to have ever had a chance to dream when many never do or were we cursed by being allowed to dream only to have the dream snatched from us?
“Would have been” is in part a cry for help in serach for that elusive closure.

Haaa ha ha ha!!!! My friend sent me this post. You are a QUEEN! Are you single? Men must love you because you seem a little aloof to the ways of male female war.
